Gym Dress Code And Rules
The Greater Plymouth Community Center Gym Dress Code and Rules
The gym is open daily for pickup volleyball and basketball.
There will be at least one gym designated as an open gym each day so that
pass holders can shoot baskets or play volleyball. However, on occasion
all four areas may be needed for programs, leagues or special events.
Please keep in mind these rules are meant to ensure a comfortable and
safe atmosphere for everyone. Please be courteous and respectful of others
and the facility.
Dress Code:
- Long- or short sleeve shirts must be worn (upper chest, back and belly must be covered). No tank tops or sleeveless shirts permitted.
- Shorts, sweat pants or warm-ups must be worn (no swim suits allowed).
- Proper footwear is expected (no shoes, boots, sandals, flip-flops or bare feet allowed).
- Non-marking court shoes must be worn on the gym floors.
- No profane language or slogans on any attire in the facility.
- Towels are suggested to wipe off excess sweat (excess sweat can accumulate on the floor and cause slipping).
General Rules:
- The 8-foot baskets are for youth only. Dunking a basketball or hanging on the rim of the backboard is prohibited. Anyone caught or viewed on surveillance tape will be required to leave the building with no refund.
- The activities designated for each court will continue to develop and change as we evaluate the daily use and requests.
- The Gymnasium Schedule is subject to change for rentals and programs. Notices will be posted at the Gymnasium entrance.
- No food or open beverage containers allowed. Beverage containers must have a secure lid and cannot be taken onto the gym floor.
- No glass or metal containers, plastic only.
- Clean up or report any spills to staff.
- No foul language
- No spitting
- Tobacco products are prohibited.
- Gambling, fighting, threatening or indecent conduct will not be permitted.
- Children 12 and under must be supervised at all times.
- The GPCC staff are not responsible for lost or stolen items. We recommend that you leave your valuables at home or lock them up.
- Be aware of others using the facility. i.e. walkers on the track.
- Only radios with headsets are permitted.
- During busy times a sign up sheet for game play may be instituted.
- GPCC reserves the right to resolve all conflicts during play on the gym floor. Any disputes over time, players, games and procedures are to be brought to GPCC staff.
- When a session has ended, please leave the floor promptly so the next activity can begin.
- All equipment is to be used in the proper way.
- No kicking or sitting on balls
- Equipment is to be returned to the proper place following use.
- Dunking and hanging on basketball rims is prohibited.
- No hanging on the volleyball nets.
- Any inappropriate use or abuse of the Center or equipment may result in termination of privileges.
- Good sportsmanship is expected for all activities. The GPCC reserves the right to eject anyone not following the rules.
- NO organized practices, except for rentals!
